Mohler Family Christmas Party

A much loved Christmas Tradition of ours is an "adults only" Christmas Party that Jason's parents do for all their children and spouses. It is a fun tradition that we hope will never end. One of my favorite parts is our little gift exchange that we do for each other. Because there are so many of us we just do something small and simple and it is really fun to see everyone’s cute ideas and taste all the yummy treats. We go to dinner, do a white elephant gift exchange, and just enjoy the nice time to visit with each other without having all the little kids with us.

Santa Claus

While we were gone to the Mohler Christmas party my wonderful sister watched our kids. She and her husband took all of our kids along with theirs to go see Santa. They went to Ethel M’s to see Santa and all the lights in the cactus garden. It was a freezing cold windy night and she still took them. They loved it and were Very excited to tell me that Santa gave them 2 chocolates AND they went on the chocolate tour and got ANOTHER chocolate.

Ward Nativity Program

During our ward Christmas party some of the primary children put on a cute little nativity program. Jaden was a Sheppard and Macy was an angel. Macy was very honored to think Sister Chesnik thought of her to be an angel, and Jaden did his part only because it was Sister Chesnik who asked him but he was counting down the seconds to take his costume off.

Snow Day!

Who would have ever thought living in Las Vegas school would close for a Snow Day? Certainly not me. The kids were all praying for the local news to announce that school would really close for the day, and IT DID! The snow looks beautiful outside and it makes the Christmas season feel even more magical but after 1 day I am definitely glad that I don't have to live in it for much longer. November is over?

Is it really December 7th?? There are only 18 days until Christmas and I am about a month behind on my To-Do list. Our Christmas tree is up but is yet to be decorated. We have gotten our family pictures taken but no Christmas cards out. I have thought about ideas for my kids Christmas but haven’t bought anything. I know I need exchange gifts and 2 white elephants for a family Christmas party this weekend but haven’t decided what to do for them. I haven't gotten Christmas presents for our parents and time seems to be running out. December is slipping away which means our library books that were due in November will now probably be a month late, I haven’t gotten a present over to a good friend of mine that had twin boys last month or a gift I really want to make to a special friend who is expecting her 1st girl. I have yet to wash and return a dozen table cloths I borrowed for Young Women in Excellence last month, I need to do a class presidency meeting with my Mia Maids because the year is just about over and we have nothing planned come January 1st. Which reminds me that I am teaching a lesson for the Y.W. the first week of January that I know will sneak up on me. I better bump getting a 2009 calendar to the top of my list. I need to return some broken watches from our last Y.W. activity and get new ones out to the girls who didn’t get one. I should call the Relief Society president and let her know I still have hair bow packets leftover from an Enrichment class I taught last month. I want to fill out some rebates and store promotion things I have before December is over and it is too late. And I am sure I will be the lame Visiting Teacher calling to make an appointment on December 30th.

And despite all the things I should be doing I am sitting down while my house is a total mess to update my blog. So here goes all of November in one long post.

November officially ended the Soccer season. I was really excited about this one but Jaden was really bummed. I am looking forward to the next few months of Saturdays that don’t include getting up early to be at the soccer field.

Macy celebrated her 6th birthday, which falls on Jason’s and mine Anniversary. She loves the bragging rights of saying she was the best anniversary present ever. Here’s a look at our little princess over the last 6 years.

November was our 10-year anniversary. Though it seems much much longer. Jason and I grew up together and I have been in love with him for much more than 10 years. To celebrate we decided to have a vacation at home alone. My sister took our kids for the weekend and we enjoyed our home with no kids. Ate out. Shopped. Went to 3 movies. And relaxed together.

In November we also took our family pictures. I think they turned out great. I love comparing the last years pictures with the new ones and seeing the changes in my kids.

We had an early Thanksgiving this year at the Mohler’s house. I love being apart of a huge family this time of the year. I feel so blessed when we all sit down together and I look around and see so many people that I love. This is a cell phone picture that I stole off my sister-in-laws blog.

We ended November with a week long vacation in Hawaii. Our free flying privileges sure came in handy when Jason’s parents announced that they would not be using their timeshare because one of their daughters had a choir concert during that same time. We jumped on the opportunity and all 6 of us headed to a week in paradise.
